Is there a comedy club on the Breakaway?

Asked by: Tracey5089
As noted by another person's response to your question, the comedy clubs on the large ships such as the Breakaway do tend to fill up quickly. If you are interested in attending a show, you should make your reservations on your first day on board. If you do not have a reservation, you still may be able to get a seat, but you probably would need to arrive at the comedy club as much as an hour before showtime to get a place near the front of the stand-by line. Guests with reservations are seated as soon as they arrive at the club, up until about ten minutes before the show, at which time the staff begins seating stand-by guests.

We are going for our 30th anniversary. Do you do anything to recognize anniversaries?

Asked by: mackysgirl
You can let NCL or your travel agent know and they will recognize you one evening at dinner. Usually with a small cake. I think you can also choose which night you want them to do it.

Are there soda vending machines on the Breakaway?

We made a reservation for 9 people, and were told that all 9 would have to purchase the beverage package because we were all on the same reservation (even though we are in 4 separate rooms). Not everyone in the group drinks soda. Are there vending machines for the addicts? :)
Asked by: Heather0073
i found a soda machine in the arcade room on the last day of my cruise.

where can I get a wine list of what is available on the Breakaway

list of all red wines available and covered by the "premium beverage package"
Asked by: denange
Unfortunately, the wine list changes from time to time, and NCL does not publish an up-to-date menu. We are on the Gem at the present time, and the wine list presented to guests in the restaurants and bars is full of scratch-outs and additions. There are about a dozen red wines available by the glass, but about half of them are more expensive than the package price limit.

Do I need to Pack a tux and other formal attire for our cruise? How about other costumes?

Asked by: ster
there are no formal nights "per se" that's why it's called freestyle cruising if you show up for dinner in a tux, i assure you you will not only feel extremely overdressed, but quite possibly really ,really embarrassed, especially if sitting next to me and i'm in jeans a t shirt and tennis shoes. dont over pack, leave the tux at home (you'll be glad you did and thank in later on)

How many or size requirement on carryon bags on Breakaway?

Asked by: Larbe
Your carry-on bag must be small enough to fit through the x-ray machine at the port's security checkpoint, so it should be no larger than the carry-on bag allowance for airlines. The only limit on the number of carry-on bags is your ability to handle them, though one per person is the standard.

What are the keys to the cabin? Swipe card? Key fob? Wristband?

Just wondering what the keys to the cabin are. Are they like hotel swipe keys or key fobs or wrist bands?
Asked by: brelausto
Some other cruise lines have begun using wrist bands or key fobs, but NCL still uses key cards. You will use your card to open your stateroom door, check in or out when going ashore, when you check in at a dining room or entertainment venue, or to make purchases on board the ship. Many passengers like to punch a hole in their card so they can suspend it from their neck using a lanyard. Recently, though, many NCL ships have begun using smart card technology which incorporates a chip as well as a magnetic strip. If you punch a hole at the wrong spot on one of these cards you will damage the chip and deactivate the card. You will be locked out of your room until you get a replacement card from the Guest Services Desk.

I have "luggage tag holders" that are 3.5"x7.5" that say they are for NCL, but when printed, they print out on 2 pages. What am I doing wrong?

If I print out at "100%", the luggage tags print out on 2 pages. Printed at 88%, they will fit the "standard clear vinyl" luggage tags marketed for NCL, but when you fold them, they are only about 3.5" x 4". What am I doing wrong?
Asked by: BebeBeth
If you are describing the luggage tags that are linked to your cruise eDocs, those are not intended to fit inside a luggage tag holder. They are designed to be folded, wrapped around your baggage handle, and then stapled to form a loop around the handle. It may be possible to experiment with the print size adjustment to render them at a size that will fit your tag holders, but since they only need to stay with your bags for the short trip from the dock to your stateroom, folding and stapling them should do the trick. When you depart the ship at the end of your cruise, a different set of tags will be made available to you so you can have crew members handle your bags for you. If you elect to use this service, you'll leave your tagged bags outside your stateroom the night before you leave the cruise. The tags are coded with the time you are assigned to leave the ship, and your luggage will be waiting for you in the cruise terminal. Once again, the tags only need to stay with your bag for the short trip from the ship to the terminal, so temporary paper tags are adequate.
