WHAT IS THE SEATING CAPACITY OF THE BREAKAWAY GARDEN CITY CAFE? We have previously sailed on the Gem, and the seating was just adequate.

How much bigger is the Garden City Cafe on the Breakaway considering there are almost twice the amount of passengers?
Asked by: 53ford
Have sailed on the Gem and Breakaway. I do not know the capacity of the Garden City Cafe, but was always able to find seats, even at meal times. The only time finding a seat would be difficult is on embarkation as everyone is waiting for their rooms to be ready.

Is there a comedy club on the Breakaway?

Asked by: Tracey5089
As noted by another person's response to your question, the comedy clubs on the large ships such as the Breakaway do tend to fill up quickly. If you are interested in attending a show, you should make your reservations on your first day on board. If you do not have a reservation, you still may be able to get a seat, but you probably would need to arrive at the comedy club as much as an hour before showtime to get a place near the front of the stand-by line. Guests with reservations are seated as soon as they arrive at the club, up until about ten minutes before the show, at which time the staff begins seating stand-by guests.

Is there a fee to have guests in the Haven?

I've been told yes and then I've been told guests can only visit your room in the Haven. How do the guests get monitored so they don't enter the restaurant/lounge/courtyard?
Asked by: haven1timer
The hostess in the restaurant swipes keycards prior to entry. Guests of passengers are rarely allowed in the restaurant and when they are there is an upcharge of $30. The concierge walks the common areas often and he really does know the faces of all the guests who should be there thanks to the picture they take of you on the day of embarkation.

I read a revue that stated there was only one bar opened during the day , is this true

Asked by: 40jamie
There are multiple bars open on the ship through out the day. These are all open at the same time. Typically there is a bar by the pool, one in the garden cafe, and one in the interior of the boat just to list a few. You definitely have variety and selection when it comes to bar locations. I love the one by the pool!

We are going for our 30th anniversary. Do you do anything to recognize anniversaries?

Asked by: mackysgirl
You can let NCL or your travel agent know and they will recognize you one evening at dinner. Usually with a small cake. I think you can also choose which night you want them to do it.

Are there soda vending machines on the Breakaway?

We made a reservation for 9 people, and were told that all 9 would have to purchase the beverage package because we were all on the same reservation (even though we are in 4 separate rooms). Not everyone in the group drinks soda. Are there vending machines for the addicts? :)
Asked by: Heather0073
i found a soda machine in the arcade room on the last day of my cruise.

where can I get a wine list of what is available on the Breakaway

list of all red wines available and covered by the "premium beverage package"
Asked by: denange
Unfortunately, the wine list changes from time to time, and NCL does not publish an up-to-date menu. We are on the Gem at the present time, and the wine list presented to guests in the restaurants and bars is full of scratch-outs and additions. There are about a dozen red wines available by the glass, but about half of them are more expensive than the package price limit.

Can we disembark at a certain port & discontinue our cruise?

We would like to disembark in Cozamel with our luggage and hire transportation to travel to Cancun. We would stay a few days in a local hotel and fly home to Austin, TX. Is that possible to leave the ship at the last port, rather than travelling back to Miami to disembark??
Asked by: RRAYM
Yes, you are allowed to do this. It would be best if you notify the ship's staff ahead of time so they can make proper arrangements for you.

How many or size requirement on carryon bags on Breakaway?

Asked by: Larbe
Your carry-on bag must be small enough to fit through the x-ray machine at the port's security checkpoint, so it should be no larger than the carry-on bag allowance for airlines. The only limit on the number of carry-on bags is your ability to handle them, though one per person is the standard.
