Will there be a formal dining night? We are sailing the Mediterranian in the fall.

Asked by: Cporter20
there is not a "formal" night, hence the term freestyle cruising. they do offer a night where it is dress up or not. personally, i choose to stay in jeans. i spent 40 years having to wear a suite and tie. no more!

Are reservations required for Specialty dining?

Asked by: Diner
no, but it always helps to have them. you can book 120 days out, or as soon as you board the ship. i have been fortunate enough to be able to get into some of the specialty restaurants without a prior reservation, or making one that morning. the only ones that are really difficult (in my estimation) are teppanyaki and le bistro

is there laundry facility on epic going on 15 day cruise

Asked by: bobbi1099
there are no self laundry facilities, but you can send out your laundry. they also offer a discounted rate on certain days. each stateroom has a bag, just fill it and give it to your cabin steward. of course there is a charge, but i think platinum and platinum +,get a free bag.

is there a waterfront walkway on the epic, and also, i will be in rome, does the shore excursion take us to the Borgese gardens

Asked by: IDIOT
Deck 7 features an open area for walking, jogging, or playing deck games such as shuffleboard, but the Epic does not have the same Waterfront area on Deck 8 as the Breakaway class ships do. The Epic does not have outdoor dining for the specialty restaurants, for example. In looking through the descriptions for shore excursions available in Rome, I could not find any that mentioned the Borghese Gallery or Borghese Gardens. Your best bet would be to take one of the "Rome On Your Own" excursions and then either walk or use public transportation in the city to get to the museum. We visited the Borghese three years ago when we spent a few days in Rome between cruises on the Epic and the Spirit. We spent about two or three hours in the museum. We were there in May, before the busy tourist season, and I don't recall having to make a reservation for a specific time nor being limited to just a two hour visit. You probably should check with the museum for current conditions. The museum architecture is beautiful, and the collection of statues are amazing. The museum is located on the grounds of the Villa Borghese Gardens. If you take the "Rome On Your Own" tour, the bus usually will drop you off and pick you up near the Colosseum, about a 45 minute walk from the Borghese.

Room 10323

Since this room is in the AFT can you smell the Ships Fumes?
Asked by: Fumes
You should not be able to notice the smell. The Diesel exhaust is located more than 100 feet above and a couple of hundred feet in front of your stateroom's balcony. Any odor should be fully dissipated long before reaching your room.

Is NCL Epic cabin 11019 considered a hull balcony?

Asked by: SCorwin
According to the deck plans, that cabin is what NCL calls PrivaSea, which is what I assume you're referring to. The balcony is partially covered by the hull, leaving a window-like open space in the middle. While it restricts your view somewhat, it does provide more privacy than a normal balcony.

Is there a chapel on the Epic?

Asked by: Priest
The Epic has some meeting rooms on Deck 5 forward on the starboard side which may be reserved for private meetings, but unfortunately there is no space designated as a chapel on this ship.
