What is the process of getting dietary restrictions accomodated?

I follow a vegan diet as I am severely allergic to dairy and eggs.
Asked by: kimimarie95
Contact the Accessibility Desk at 866.584.9756. They told me they would mark my reservation and that I should remind them on the first day right after check in.

Enclosed Balcony?

what is meant by Enclosed balcony
Asked by: Kennz2012
Some NCL ships include a few balcony staterooms for which the balcony opening to the sea is somewhat restricted in size. Think of a matted picture. The scene is smaller than the frame. On NCL, these enclosures are called "PrivaSea" balconies. Instead of the opening extending from the deck all the way to the ceiling and from one side to the other, the hull forms a partial frame or matte around the opening, which is about four feet high and five or six feet wide. This is done mostly on balconies near the front or rear of the ship in an effort to reduce the effects of wind and sea spray. An internet search for "NCL enclosed balcony photos" should lead to several pictures posted by previous guests.

Is there a price limit or a selection of certain meals for the promo Specialty Meals?

Asked by: kckcarter
In some of the specialty restaurants the menu will indicate one or more "premium" items. If you select one of these main courses when using your dining package, a surcharge will be added to your bill. The amount of the surcharge will be indicated on the menu. The vast majority of the items on the menu, however, are available at no additional charge to those using a dining package. Unfortunately, NCL's rules prohibit us from discussing specific costs on this passenger-to-passenger forum. However, an internet search for "NCL menus" will lead you to a number of photos of menus taken by previous passengers. You should be able to get a good idea of any additional costs that you may incur.

What are the activities available to families?

We did Disney and there was always something going on to get the family involved. Is it the same on the Joy? I mean outside of the pool, aqua park and things like race track, pavilion and laser tag? More so things like bingo, trivia etc...
Asked by: Anonymous
Bingo and trivia contests are held several times each day.

Since we have a coffee maker in our mini suite, do we have to bring coffee or do they supply coffee?

Asked by: Jean48
Your stateroom attendant will bring a fresh supply of coffee each day, so you do not need to bring your own unless you have a preference for a particular brand.

We have been on cruises where they have "Elegant Night" on sea days, where families can dress up, photographers everywhere, etc. Does NCL do this?

Asked by: kckcarter
Yes, usually once per cruise, or twice on longer cruises, there will be a "Dress up or Not" evening. Passengers are encouraged to dress up, photographers will be available for professional photos, and the Captain often will be available to pose with guests. No one is required to dress up on these occasions, however, and many prefer to remain in "cruise casual" attire.

NCL Joy Stateroom 8756

NCL Joy Stateroom 8756 are there coffee machines, what type? Are we allowed to bring snacks? Is 8756 an obstructed view? This is our 30th annv and our first cruise.
Asked by: pkahl
There is a coffee maker in all Balcony staterooms such as yours. NCL uses a variety of machine brands. Most of the coffee makers are by Hamilton Beach, but some rooms have LavAzza or Keurig brand machines. You are allowed to bring snacks with you, but you should not need to since you will be able to find a wide variety of food items available on board. The view from your stateroom balcony is not obstructed.

What brand of coffee is served for free?

I am not a fan of Starbuck's coffee and wanted to know what brand of free coffee NCL uses for the dining rooms, buffet etc. Additionally, I'd like to know what brand is included with the stateroom (we have a mini-suite, by the way). Thanks!
Asked by: StepheninDC
NCL features LavAzza brand coffee.

water bottle

If I bring a refillable water bottle on board, are there stations to refill it? will the bars/restaurants do this? thanks!
Asked by: Raidercat
You can refill your bottle at the sink in your stateroom, then place the bottle in your refrigerator overnight to cool. The water in your tap, like that throughout the ship, is purified by a reverse osmosis process, making it as pure as the water in municipal water systems.
