How does the crew deal with food allergies?

My wife is allergic to gluten, soy, dairy and shellfish. Will the chefs work with her or will she be very limited in her food options?

If you have any other special dietary requirements contact NCL about a month in advance and inform them about the dietary requirements. Follow up with NCL a week before the cruise as a reminder. Once on board, contact the restaurant manager to ensure that they are aware of it.

how do you find out what your total "on board credit" balance is, and are on board credits ship specific

The onboard credit that you received will be shown in your onboard statement. Any charges you have on the ship like dining, onboard shopping, shore excursions, service charge etc will be billed to your stateroom. At the end of the cruise they will apply any onboard credits you have to your final bill before charging it to your credit card.

Can I request a different stateroom on a higher deck level

A lot of people like to upgrade once they have booked a cabin. Check for available staterooms and their price on NCL's website. That should give you an idea on how much it will cost to upgrade. Since you already have a reservation, you will need to contact NCL or your travel agent to make the reservation changes.

will the king bed be converted into 2 twin beds for us?

Only the penthouse has a king sized bed. The rest of the staterooms have two full sized beds that can be combined to make a queen sized bed.

Are there irons and ironing boards in the staterooms or available on the ship?

No. Due to fire hazard issues, the staterooms do not have clothes iron and you are not allowed to bring irons on board the ship. However, you can request the Guest Services Desk or the cabin stewards they will be happy to bring you an iron and ironing board for a few hours.

I read that 20% gratuities would be added at checkout. What is the price to which the 20% is added? Is it per day or what a drink package would cost.

The 20% gratuity is collected at the time of booking. There won't be any additional gratuity added to your stateroom charges.

Are there hairdryers in each room of the Norwegian Sky?

All staterooms have hair dryers. The amenities the ship's stateroom is just as in any hotel. Mini-fridge(not available in studio), phone, TV, coffee maker (not in studio,inside & ocean view staterooms), ice bucket, beach towels, mini-safe, hair dryer, liquid soap and shampoo.
