What happened to the 5 O’clock Somewhere Bar?

Asked by: Lilymay
According to the Deck Plans as of December, 2020, the Five O'Clock Somewhere Bar is still located on Deck 7, Port side, aft. It likely will be replaced by a wine bar as it was on the Dawn, the Star's sister ship, when the Star goes in for its next refurbishment.

Is there a laundromat?

Asked by: Svenski
None of NCL's ships feature a laundromat, however laundry and dry cleaning services are available from the ship's laundry at prices comparable to those at a land-based hotel. There also will be a day near the middle of your cruise when the ship will offer special pricing on laundry. You can have one full bag of clothing laundered for a single low price.

What is a pullman bed and what is a pullout bed

Asked by: 225617122
A Pullman bed can fold down from the wall or the ceiling to provide an upper bunk bed. NCL staterooms with Pullman beds will have a ladder, usually stored in the closet, to assist passengers in climbing into the bed. Pullman beds are named for George Pullman, who designed this style of bed in the 1860s for railroad sleeping cars. A pullout bed is a type of sofa bed, which can be made up as bed in the evening, then folded away into a sofa for daytime use.

How far in advance of my sailing date can I book specialty dining and theater seating

Asked by: Billbrown
Reservations for shows in the theater are available on NCL's megaships, but not on smaller ships such as the Star. Dinner reservations can be made up to 120 days before your cruise (130 days if you are traveling in a Suite or the Haven).

On the Norwegian Star, are there any Inside or Ocean View rooms that have a sofabed besides the 2 twin beds?

Asked by: 225617122
Unfortunately, no. If you click on the "Staterooms" link above you can see the floor plans of Inside and Ocean View staterooms. None of them are large enough for a sofa, although many do include Murphy beds which your stateroom attendant can fold down each evening as a bed for an additional guest, then fold away each morning.

Is there an additional charge for the inside lap pool and hot tub.

Asked by: Spoiledchris
If you are referring to the Mandara Spa, yes there is a fee. NCL's rules for this passenger-to-passenger forum, unfortunately, prohibit mention of specific costs.

What is an enclosed balcony?

Is the view obstructed in any way
Asked by: Svenski
Some of the balconies on NCL ships are partially enclosed. NCL refers to these as "Priva Sea" balconies. Instead of the balcony being open to the sea from floor to ceiling and the full width, the hull forms a sort of picture frame or matte around a smaller opening. This opening is usually about four feet high and perhaps five feet wide. The frame makes the opening appear similar to a window. Most of these "Priva Sea" balconies are located at the very front of the ship. The purpose of the restricted opening is to reduce the effects of wind and sea spray on the balcony deck. If you look at the front of the ship in the photo on this website you will see that the first few rooms on the upper decks have what look like windows instead of full balcony openings. Those are the enclosed balcony staterooms. If you have been assigned one of these rooms, you may be able to change to a room further back which has a full balcony opening. There may be an additional charge for the more desirable room. Please check with your travel agent or the NCL Reservations Department to see what is available and what the cost may be.
