Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring water or soda on board?
Guests are not allowed to bring water, soda, or other beverages onboard Norwegian Cruise Line ships, whether as carry-on or checked luggage. However, there are exceptions for:
- Purified or distilled water in factory-sealed containers for use with medical devices or for infant formula.
- Sealed wine bottles for personal consumption, subject to a corkage fee.
If you need to bring water for medical reasons or for an infant, you should contact the Access Desk at accessdesk@ncl.com to request pre-approval.

What are the age, size and weight requirements for water/dry slides, rope courses, rock climbing walls and go-karts?
General Aqua Park, Water Slide, and Dry Slide Safety Rules:
- No lifeguard on duty.
- No running, jumping, or diving are permitted in the water slide or aqua park areas.
- No beverages, food or glass are permitted.
- Children in diapers or who are not toilet trained are not allowed on water slides or in the aqua park.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Guests must abide by all rules posted on signs in the water slide and aqua park areas.
- Swimwear or dry wear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation are not permitted on any slides.
- Remove all jewelry before entering any slide area.
- Eyeglasses and sunglasses must be removed.
- Participation in these activities is at your own risk.
- Children, pregnant women, elderly persons, individuals on medications or who have underlying medical conditions, those suffering from heart ailments such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, anyone using anticoagulants, vasoconstrictors, vasodilators, stimulants, hypnotics, narcotics, tranquilizers, and those who are immune compromised, are warned against using the pool.
General Speedway Safety Rules:
- Flat, fully closed footwear required (no flip flops, Crocs, or heels).
- Riders must always wear a helmet.
- Loose clothing is not allowed.
- No age minimum, guests must only adhere to height requirements.
- Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back and hidden inside helmet.
- Drug and alcohol consumption before driving are strictly prohibited.

Before You Set Sail
Give yourself plenty of time to finalize important pre-cruise arrangements. From travel documents to Online Check-In, these are the things you need to do in advance.
Pre-Cruise Need-to-Knows
Departure Day
Before you set sail, give yourself plenty of time to make sure these pre-cruise arrangements are in order. Especially if you're traveling with a big group, make sure that everyone has the proper travel documentation, knows how to explore and plan shore excurstions, onboard dining and more.
Don't Forget to Bring These Items
- Government-issued photo ID and Passport, if applicable.
Learn more about the required travel documentation with plenty of time in advance.
- eDocs (One copy per stateroom).
Log in to your Account to complete Online Check-In and download eDocs.
- Luggage labeled with bag tags.
A link for Luggage tags can be downloaded and printed from your eDocs in your My NCL Account.
- Credit card for onboard expenses.
We don’t recommend that you use a debit card while on board. See the FAQ paying for onboard expenses section for more information.
- Small bag with essentials.
This bag should contain items you will need on the first and last day of your cruise while your luggage is delivered to/from your stateroom.
Money Matters and Spending
In the Online Check-In process, you’ll be asked to designate a method of payment for your onboard account. Spending on board will be handled by using your key card. We accept all major credit cards. NOTE: We do not recommend using a debit card for your method of payment. See FAQ: “How do I pay for onboard expenses?” for more info.
