Visit one of Norway’s summer farms up in the beautiful mountains. You’ll learn about their operation, meet the workers, see the livestock and enjoy samples of the food they produce here. Your tour starts from the small village of Geiranger, one of Norway’s most popular tourist resorts. Board your coach and climb up Eagle Road, with its 11 hairpin bends for a scenic stop. Here you’ll have a spectacular view of Pulpit Rock, the Seven Sisters waterfall and your cruise ship anchored below. The Geiranger Fjord is one of the deepest and longest fjords in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You’ll drive through high snow-covered mountains and lovely green valleys en route to the Herdal Mountain Farm. This farm has been in operation for some 300 years and is one of many summer farms in Norway. With hundreds of goats, their main product is brown and white goat cheese. You’ll get to meet some of the people that work here, befriend a goat or two and enjoy samples of the food they produce. In addition to the goats, the farm also has cows, sheep and Norwegian Fjord Horses.

Need to Know:

Note: Tour involves optional walking for approximately 0.11 miles/183 meters on gravel paths, grass and uneven surfaces with some steps. Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes. During May and early June, the farm may be substituted.
