Olden Helicopter Sightseeing

OVERVIEW

Fly high over the surrounding fjords, glaciers and lakes in a helicopter with large windows that offer a bird’s-eye view of the extraordinary natural beauty below. Although the exact route will depend on the weather conditions, the helicopter is scheduled to begin flying south into the beautiful Olden Valley and on to Briksdalsbreen, an arm of an even larger glacier within Jostedalsbreen National Park. You will also enjoy an aerial view of nearby Kjenndalsbreen, which has the distinction of being the area’s lowest glacial arm. This area is prone to landslides, some of them devastating, the effects of which the pilot will describe. Other highlights include Lodalskåpa, a jagged peak that juts out of the massive Jostedalsbreen glacier, and the Loen Skylift, one of the world’s steepest cable cars. The flight will take you over the quintessential fjord landscape, at times passing over waterfront villages such Stryn before finally landing in Tyvaneset.
