OVERVIEW

Settle in for a panoramic drive into the Cabo Rojo Mountains, a stunningly beautiful landscape of natural wonders and sprawling farms. Prepare for a short 15-minute hike up the mountain, passing through a landscape of endemic pines with distinctive pinecones. As you walk along a scenic, low-to-medium difficulty trail, take in the serene surroundings and the stillness of the high-altitude environment. At the summit, visit the observatory at the Hoyo de Pelempito Visitor Center, located 1,300 meters above sea level in the western Sierra de Bahoruco mountains. Fuel up with a delicious refreshment at the Visitor's Dining Room, nestled high in the mountains, where you can enjoy a light meal of seasonal fruits, a warm cup of Dominican coffee, and refreshing water.
