Hike Dravuni Island

OVERVIEW

Hike to the lookout atop the highest point on Dravuni Island and take in the gorgeous views in every direction. A multitude of trails crisscross the island’s interior with most of them leading up to the summit. Although only about 150 feet above sea level, the top of the hill offers sweeping views of the paradise below. As you will see, the beautiful blues and greens of the surrounding sea change colors as the sunlight shimmers on the water’s surface. During the hike, the guide will point out and describe the island’s flora, which ranges from medicinal plants to pandanus, a palm-like shrub whose leaves are often woven into mats and baskets. Be sure to keep an eye out for birds as the island is home to pink-billed parrotfinches and barking imperial pigeons. Time will also be allotted to shop at the beachside stalls and mingle with the islanders.
