Drive through the tunnels connecting Flam with the village of Gudvangen, where there is a short stop before continuing through the narrow and impressive Naeroydalen Valley with its many waterfalls. At the end of the valley, the drive continues up the steep canyon road to the Stalheim Hotel, a traditional hotel with an interesting history.
The present hotel is a reconstruction of the original, with Scandinavian furniture and antiques. There is also a souvenir shop. Tea, coffee and a pecan Danish pastry will be served for your enjoyment. You’ll have time for a stroll in the garden or an outside visit to the privately owned museum.
Pass the villages of Oppheim and Vinje on your way to Tvinde Waterfall. Here, you’ll have some time to take pictures and go for a stroll towards the waterfall. Continuing towards Gudvangen, you’ll pass the Stalheim Waterfall and the Sivle Waterfall.
