OVERVIEW

See the landmarks that define Taiwan’s robust capital of Taipei City and stop to explore the most significant ones, including the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. Dedicated to the former president of the Republic of China, this national monument holds a collection of historical relics from his early family life through his presidency. Commentary will describe how Taiwan is governed as you pass the Presidential Office Building, which was constructed during the Japanese colonial period, which ended with World War II. Before heading to Taoyuan International Airport, you will also pass towering Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building. It resembles a giant bamboo stalk, which was the intention of the architects as bamboo symbolizes strong, rapid growth much like the city of Taipei.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Transfer to Taoyuan International Airport in plenty of time to make your flight.

Note: It is recommended to book this excursion AFTER you have your flight information in order to avoid cancellation. Tour begins approximating 1 hour after ships’ arrival with a duration of about 3.5 hours. Suggested flight departure should begin no sooner than 7 hours after debarkation. Debark shore excursions will only be available to book 50 days prior to sailing. To avoid air ticketing conflicts, air must be ticketed before the debarkation shore excursion can be booked. This applies to independent air and air booked through NCL. Guests are responsible for ensuring their debarkation tours are compatible with their flight departure times. This tour includes limited walking, mainly at the guest's discretion. It is available to guests who utilize a collapsible wheelchair, can make their way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them.
