Walk through downtown Ponta Delgada with a guide that will describe the particulars of Azorean cuisine and sample some of the island’s signature specialties. Although the archipelago is part of Portugal, the cuisine tends to be more rustic than on the mainland., flavorful hard cheeses and hearty vegetable dishes are traditional offerings. Depending on the season, what is freshest and where you stop, some of the local food that you may sample could be bread, Cheese, typical dried fruits, jam, Bolo Lêvedo (sweet bread), Kima and Laranjada (local produced soft drinks) and local beer or a glass of Portuguese wine.

Note: It is not recommended to guests who utilize a wheelchair, scooter or with any walking limitations. Exterior visits only. Entrance to venues are not included, unless stated. This tour includes a walking portion of about 1 mile. Azorean flavors you´ll delight will depend on the season. Menu tasting may vary. Tour sequence may vary. Please be prepared for high temperatures during the summer season. Guests should wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and clothing. Guests who miss the return transportation will be responsible for getting back to the ship. When visiting religious sites shoulders and knees should covered. While unable to deviate from the menu, please beware of your own dietary restrictions. Double check with your guide in case of food allergies. Tour sensitive to weather conditions (Rain, wind, and sun). A Spanish guide may be available upon request and is subject to reaching tour minimum.
