Travel through Suva to Nasali landing at the Rewa Delta. Board longboats and travel down-river, passing grassy plains and villages before arriving at Naililili Parish. The local priest will invite you into the beautiful Naililili Church, built by the early Catholic Missionaries in the early 1800’s. Take a guided walk which includes a visit to the school where there is the opportunity to meet the friendly school children. Learn fascinating facts about this historical site which have only recently been unraveled by the dedicated school teachers.


Board your longboat for a short transfer to Waivou Village where the friendly village warriors will greet and escort you to the main village hall. Enjoy their welcome, extended in the form of a kava ceremony and fascinating cultural display. Experience village life on your guided tour around the village, as the villagers sing their national farewell song to mark the end of the tour.


Need to Know:

Note: Due to island protocol, conservative attire is required to visit the Fijian Villages; knees and shoulders should be covered and hats or caps must be removed while in the village. This tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. You will spend approximately 1 hour on the local bus and the longboats each way. Seats in the longboats are wooden and have no backrests. Island buses do not have air-conditioning and are the best available. Casual, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable, flat walking shoes are suggested. Australian or Fijian currency will be needed to purchase any additional items.
