Charlottetown By Double Decker

History comes alive on this authentic vintage double-decker bus. This one and a half hour city tour with your local guide will take you along the waterfront and through the heritage district of Charlottetown. Learn the story of Charlottetown's origins and its growth into a prosperous community during the Victorian era. Experience the heritage and see some of the beautiful homes left behind and public buildings of wood, sandstone and brick. You’ll learn about the famous Conference of 1864, which gave the city its designation as the Birthplace of Canada.
The tour concludes with includes a guided walk up Great George Street, a charming national historic district where you’ll walk in the footsteps of the Fathers of Confederation and learn first-hand about the Confederation. Your walk will take you by Saint Dunstan's Basilica, concluding at Province House, both being National Historic Sites of Canada. Following your walk, you may choose to remain in town and return to your ship at leisure (a short walk), or join your guide for a return transfer to the pier.

Note: Tour includes approximately 30 minutes of walking on uneven terrain, pavement, grass inclines, stairs and wooden decks; participants should be in good physical health. This program is not suitable for guests utilizing a wheelchair, nor those with mobility concerns. A contribution from the cost of your tour ticket helps support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. On selected days, motor coaches may be used in conjunction with double-decker.
