Note: This approximately 5-hour excursion is rated easy and includes approximately one hour of transportation each way between Halifax and Hennigar’s Farm Market in the Annapolis Valley. The experience includes a guided orchard visit, cider-pressing demonstration, seasonal fruit and cider tastings, and a choice of recreational activities. Guests may participate in a guided countryside walk of approximately 2–3 kilometers over natural farmland and trails, enjoy a game of Farmer’s Golf, or relax at the farm. Walking distances and activity levels vary depending on the option selected. The tour is not wheelchair accessible. Guests should be comfortable boarding and disembarking the motorcoach, which requires negotiating approximately two steps, and walking over potentially uneven outdoor surfaces. A farm-to-table barbecue lunch is included, with selections that may feature locally produced sausages, burgers, chicken, vegetables, and salads. A vegetarian portobello burger option is also available. Two cider beverages are included. Restroom facilities are available at the farm but not aboard the motorcoach. Guests will also have an opportunity to browse Hennigar’s Farm Market for locally produced goods and souvenirs.
