OVERVIEW

See the wilderness on the outskirts of Noumea from a unique water perspective by kayaking the Dumbea River, which meanders through the lush Parc Fayard. The river is wide and calm, so the conditions are ideal for kayaking even if you are a novice. After a briefing to help ensure that you maximize the experience, you will paddle off, following the guide. There isn’t much of a current so paddling should be easy. Along the way, you will most likely see other kayakers, hikers on the riverbank trails and picnickers enjoying the serene setting. In the more secluded parts of the river, the only sounds will be those of nature. Parc Favyard is a natural reserve that is environmentally protected as it supplies Noumea with water. Clear pools that are ideal for swimming are abundant, and you will have the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in one if you wish.
