Continue on to the typical Dalmatian village of Burni to acquaint yourself with its local traditions. Look for bears, deer and bald eagles in their natural habitats from an elevated observation area in the remote Spasski River Valley. As you leave Hoonah, Alaska’s largest Tlingit Indigenous settlement, the guide will enlighten you with stories about the Tlingits and their fascinating history. Upon reaching the valley, you will walk along a gravel path and boardwalk to the elevated viewing platform. Be on the lookout for the diverse wildlife that makes its home here, including grizzly bears, which are highly intelligent omnivores that primarily eat vegetation. While this is an excellent area to observe animals, they roam freely, so there are no guarantees that you will see them. The Sitka black-tail deer is another native that may be spotted from the observation area, as well as land otters, mink and marten. And don’t forget to look skyward for bald eagles, a highly efficient bird of prey that frequents the valley.

Board your coach for the drive to the village of Eze. As you climb its steep cobblestone streets, the alluring medieval atmosphere will enchant you. Don’t miss the stunning views of the coast from the top. Rejoin your coach and continue to Monaco. After your tour, enjoy a scenic drive along the beautiful “Riviera of the Seven Castles” to medieval Trogir.

Zip along the coast of the Big Island of Hawaii on a 41-foot Super-Raft and enjoy an extended stop to snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. As you set out from Honningsvag on your one-hour drive to the North Cape, you'll quickly see that a barren landscape is the hallmark of the windswept Arctic Circle where the vegetation appears sparse, indeed. To the botanist, however, it is plentiful, with 200 species of plants growing here. Watch for reindeer during your transfer.

The North Cape itself is an enormous rock with a steep wall climbing over 1,000 feet/304 meters from the Arctic Ocean below. At a latitude of 71º, 10' north, the cape is remarkably civilized, with a post office, chapel, bar and restaurant. You'll even find a shopping area and a cinema. The spectacular 14-minute long film takes you on a journey of a landscape filled with contrasts, light and nature. The people's story and history is told with beautiful pictures and music. Take time for photos, browsing and postcard writing.

Ever think of taking a boat ride to an active volcano and hike its gravel terrain? Board your local boat “caique” from the old port of Santorini for a 15 minute trip up to Nea Kameni. En route, admire the volcanic shores with the peculiar shape formations of the black volcanic rocks and the white pumice. After disembarking, a steep and fast paced 30 minute, 3/4 mile hike on rocky and gravel terrain takes you to the crater of this still active volcano.

During your walk up an ascending path, you’ll have the opportunity to observe the lava fragments and the volcanic rock formations. Once you reach the crater, you’ll have time to relax and enjoy the view of Santorini and the amazing cliffs of the caldera. Board you boat and sail towards the thermal springs of Palea Kameni, with its green sulfur warm waters and temperatures that reach 37° C (98° F). Here you’ll have the opportunity to jump off the boat and swim to the springs, weather permitting.

Start your day with a 40-minute scenic boat ride through historic Nassau Harbor on a high-speed ferry to Blue Lagoon Island. Enjoy this private island at your leisure. Swim on a pristine beach, just relax and lounge in a double hammock or enjoy activities like volleyball and beach soccer. You can also visit the Dolphin Encounter’s facility and observe friendly Bahamian Atlantic bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, and southern stingrays in their natural habitat. This excursion is dedicated to the passionate of the museums. Drive from the pier to the Peninsula of Bygdøy, also known as “museum island”. Here you will visit the Maritime Museum, housing the smaller Viking boat and a wide range of Norwegian maritime cultural heritage including the country's oldest vessel (2200 years old). Later we will visit the Kon-Tiki Museum housing the original balsa-raft used by Thor Heyerdahl and his five companions in 1947 during their voyage from Peru to Polynesia, across 3000 kilometres of ocean. A good selection of documentary material is also on display. Further, the museum houses the papyrus-boat RA II with which Thor Heyerdahl and his companions crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 1970. From the Kon-Tiki Museum we continue to the Fram Polarmuseum - housing the famous polar vessel "Fram" which is still the surface vessel that has sailed both furthest North – reaching 85° 57'n latitude with Nansens expedition from 1893-1896 – and furthest South reaching 78° 41's latitude with Amundsens expedition to the South Pole from 1910-1912.

Depart the Port of Miami in your air-conditioned motorcoach with a knowledgeable guide to explore the diversity of Miami and neighboring cities. Continue to 'The City Beautiful' - Coral Gables, an upmarket residential area with multi-million dollar homes, the home campus of the University of Miami and the landmark Biltmore Hotel. On the way to the airport drive past the area now known as Little Havana where many Cuban refugees first settled after the 1956 revolution.

Upon arrival in the charming town of Cruz Bay you will board your open airs safari vehicle for a scenic drive to Trunk Bay

Be sure to bring your camera, as you'll make three photo stops along the way. Arrive at Trunk Bay to enjoy the crystalline blue-green waters!

After a short orientation, you'll set out on the famous underwater snorkel trail for over an hour, following markers that describe the many species of fish and corals that make Trunk Bay their home.

Combine your helicopter flightseeing tour with Alaska’s favorite sport, dog sledding. A short drive brings you to the heliport where following a safety video, you’ll be outfitted with boots and ready to start your adventure. Once airborne you’ll soar over stunning glaciers and snow fields before landing at the Dog Camp on Denver Glacier. Here you’ll become acquainted with the world of mushing and dog sledding. You have the option to either stand on the sled and mush or relax in the sled and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. A truly authentic Alaskan adventure, this outing enables you to meet professional mushers and their friendly dogs that have made the Iditarod Dog Race famous.

Less than an hour away from Saint John is the picturesque fishing village of St. Martins, a beautiful window through which to take a peek at life in New Brunswick. During the scenic drive to St. Martins, your local guide will entertain you with fascinating folklore about the village, including the thriving shipbuilding era of bygone days. Upon arrival, stop at the harbor and witness the effects of the extreme high and low tides of the Bay of Fundy. This area is a favorite with artists, with its lighthouse, lobster traps and fishing boats creating a charming scene. Stroll over the covered bridge and explore this working harbor. Visit the beach, where time and tides have carved echoing caves in the sandstone cliffs. Enjoy a walk along the beach and a light lunch of delicious seafood chowder at the beach restaurant. As you return to the pier, enjoy the scenery and reflect on your wonderful day in St. Martins.

Take a 45-minute guided adventure through the Berry Islands, neighboring Great Stirrup Cay. After a safety briefing and orientation, you’ll board your Wave Runner for an informative and exciting guided tour. Some of the sights you may see include the Lighthouse at Great Stirrup Cay, Slaughter Harbor and the abandoned island community of Cistern Cay.

Travel to the picturesque little village of Baddeck situated on the shores of the beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes in the heart of Cape Breton Island. This is where Alexander Graham Bell spent most of the last 37 years of his life. Visit his museum which does full justice to the outstanding accomplishments of the man best known for the invention of the telephone and remarkable contributions in the fields of medicine, genetics, electricity, sound and speech, as well as aeronautics and marine engineering.

The museum itself is architecturally striking, as its design is based on the tetrahedron form Bell used for his flight test kites and houses the most extensive collection of artifacts contributed by his family. Enjoy the views of Boulanderie Island, Seal Island Bridge, Kelly's Mountain and St. Ann's Bay during the return drive to your ship.

Interact with some of Alaska’s most iconic animals at the Kroschel Wildlife Center, a wilderness reserve for orphaned and injured creatures. The drive there will set the stage for this hands-on experience as you will travel through the Chilkat Mountains, a forested area where many of the animals were rescued. As an introduction, Steve Kroschel will describe how he founded his namesake reserve and demonstrate how the caretakers work with the rescued animals to assist in their recovery. He may feed them as well, so you can see their special dietary needs are met. It will then be your turn to interact with the wildlife, which may include wolf pups, caribou, pine martens and foxes. The center is also home to birds of prey such as the majestic snowy owl, which is almost entirely white when fully grown. You can expect your one-on-one experiences with the animals to be immensely fulfilling and enlightening.

This magnificent gorge is 10 miles long, one mile wide and 3,000 feet deep. You’ll want to bring a camera to capture the spectacular beauty of this natural work of art.

Watch humpback whales and other marine creatures cavorting in the nutrient-rich waters at Point Adolphus, one of Alaska’s premier observation points. During the cruise, a naturalist will describe the diversity of animals that converge here each summer. They come primarily to feed in the waters that are extraordinarily rich in halibut, salmon and plankton. Point Adolphus is noted for having the highest concentration of humpback whales in the Alaskan panhandle, so be on the lookout for these majestic and intelligent creatures. You can expect them to be breaching the water’s surface, waving their flukes up and down as they dive, and feeding voraciously to fatten up for their winter migration south. You might also observe frolicking Dall’s porpoises, Stellar sea lions, curious harbor seals and Orca whales. You may also see graceful bald eagles swooping down to grab fish in their talons, and perhaps even bears and deer in the surrounding wooded landscape.

Admire a lush landscape dotted with historic towns, farms and grand villas. You’ll travel to Lake Albano, situated in the crater of an extinct volcano, and the hilltop town of Castel Gandolfo, a pretty village that clusters around the papal palace, where the popes have had their summer residence for centuries. Enjoy a walk in the medieval village and see the exterior of the palace.

Drive through the rolling hills of Rome’s wine growing region and stop at a local farmhouse. You’ll be greeted by a member of the family, who will show you around the property. Mama herself will demonstrate how to make fresh pasta and you may give it a try if you like, before settling down for a homemade Italian lunch, accompanied of course by home produced wines.

Check out Maui’s massive Haleakala volcano from bottom to top, as you journey from sea level to the summit to view spectacular island scenery and the immense crater of volcanic rock. You can catch a glimpse of Haleakala, Maui’s massive dormant volcano, from almost any point on the island, but you will go all the way to the top on this scenic journey – from sea level to 10,000 feet. At the summit is a vast crater seven and a half miles long by two and a half miles wide, and 3,000 feet deep. It last erupted in 1790 and has slumbered ever since, though that does not mean it won’t one day wake up. The Hawaiians revere it as a sacred site, and tell tales of Pele, Goddess of Fire and Volcanos.

The views from the top are magnificent. If the day is clear, you may even make out two other towering peaks – Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the Big Island. From the crater’s rim, you'll be able to appreciate first hand the unique beauty of this imposing caldera with its interesting mix of volcanic rock and plant life, some of which, like the silversword plant, is found only in Hawaii's volcanic craters.

On this introduction to the “Garden Isle,” you’ll explore two of Kauai’s most dramatic natural attractions - the 3,000-foot deep Waimea Canyon and the lush landscapes lining the Wailua River, including the famed Fern Grotto.

At the grotto, keeping with island custom, a chorus will serenade you with the traditional Hawaiian Wedding Song.

Enjoy a drive to the southern part of Lanzarote, passing the picturesque villages of Macher and Uga and crossing black lava streams before arriving to the southwest coast of the island. Pass by El Golfo, a breath taking green Lake, for a photo stop before reaching the Timanfaya National Park. The park is a natural museum of unique beauty. Bizarre craters, streams of lava and fields of ashes formed by eruptions during the 18th century are mixed here in a nearly unrealistic lunar landscape. Upon arrival to Islote de Hilario, a crater with the highest surface temperatures in the region, you’ll experience still-existing activity not far underground as you gather around for the fun demonstrations. The geothermal energy is so strong that water gushes up and dry weed catches fire within seconds. Board a coach to embark on a tour of the Fire Mountains called the "Lunar Route”, which goes deep inside the heart of the national park and lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Through a recorded narration, you’ll learn about the history of the volcanic eruptions and see how slowly life conquers the inhospitable landscape with very few endemic plants. From here you’ll drive to the wine-growing area of La Geria where the locals have modified grape growing through the centuries in order to preserve the vines from the harsh natural elements and provide a special cultivation for the grapes that produce the famous Malvasia wine. These vines are grown inside dimple-like craters and surrounded by volcanic stone semi-circles (called Zocos), built for each individual vine to provide much needed protection from the fierce winds. Visit one of the local wine cellars for a taste of the local wine before the return drive to your ship.

Become absorbed in the rich culture of Southeast Alaska’s Native Americans and witness a rip roaring lumberjack competition on this comprehensive tour of Ketchikan. Your first stop will be a visit to Saxman Native Village. For generations, Tlingit villages have maintained a tradition of welcoming visitors in regal style In this Native community, tribal elders and others have worked hard to pass on many of the traditions that have long defined their culture.
