Colorful Marine Life. Turquoise Lagoons.
Considered one of the top beaches in the world, Aitutaki is a place to soak in the sun while taking in gorgeous views of surrounding blue lagoons. Rent a bike or a moped and ride natural tracks around the island. Take one of the coastal roads for truly special views and cross-island roads that will take you to the smaller Cook Islands, some of which are completely uninhabited. The village contains the oldest church in the Cook Islands and is surrounded by sacred grounds where rituals were performed in the past. Don’t forget to follow tradition and step on the Visitor’s Rock. Do it when you arrive to be welcomed into the village, and again before you leave, to leave everything behind.
