Famous For

Though most of the island is covered in forest, Oshima is known for its crystal-clear waters, abundant coral reefs, marine life and beautiful beaches, making the location perfect for diving and snorkelling.

Spicy tuna (Maguro) don, or donburi, is a Japanese dish where spicy raw minced tuna is served atop a bowl of steamed rice with Shiso, or Ooba leaf. This dish is quite popular at Japanese restaurants.
