After departing from the pier in a skiff designed for fishing, you will cruise into the turquoise waters off Harvest Caye, which are teeming with fish. Just settle in and enjoy, as the 32-foot boat races to a spot where the fish have been biting lately.

Once the boat anchors, a crew member will outfit you with all the necessary tackle and bait that the fish should find irresistible. The crew will also offer tips on how best to cast and retrieve the lure or live bait to maximize the experience.

Jacks thrive here among the reefs and if you catch one be prepared for a fierce fight. They typically weigh up to five pounds, but can be much larger. Easy to identify by their steep heads and deeply forked tails, jacks are often caught here.

If you catch a striped fish that grunts like a pig when you pull it out of the water, it will be a grunt. They make that characteristic sound by grinding the teeth deep in their throats. Grunts tend to school in the many reefs and sea beds off Harvest Caye.

Many types of groupers are found in deeper waters near rocks, drop-offs and ledges. Although groupers are slow swimmers, they can be powerful, especially the massive ones.

Drive a 4-wheel-drive vehicle to the eastern shore of Aruba, a spectacularly scenic area full of natural wonders and a 19th-century gold mill. Your Utility Terrain Vehicle or UTV has better traction that most ATVs and is made for heavier duty, so it is ideal to negotiate the island’s rugged terrain. You can drive the 2-person UTV or ride along as a passenger. Either way, it will be a thrill. Although Aruba isn’t often associated with a gold rush, it did experience one after the precious metal was discovered in 1824. You will see evidence of the frenzy that followed at the ruins of the abandoned Bushiribana Gold Mill. Not far off, you will view beautiful Blackstone Beach, the island’s only beach made of volcanic black pebbles, and a natural rock bridge that the pounding of the sea created. Your boat will take you across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to Norman Island where you’ll snorkel The Caves or The Indians. You are guaranteed to see beautiful corals and sponges, plentiful fish, and perhaps a turtle or ray will swim by and visit. After your snorkel, step ashore on to Norman Island. Snorkel on a smaller nearby reef, wander ashore and explore the beach or hunt for treasure. Cooper Island, Chromis Reef is another popular site and often more conducive to snorkeling when sea conditions are not ideal. You'll kayak to a beach in the southern part of the Bonaire Marine Park - an exquisite snorkeling location with breathtaking coral and colorful fish. This day of sun and fun starts as you meet your guide at the pier for the short walk to a lovely beach, for your kayaking eco-adventure. First, you’ll take a moment for a safety briefing and paddling instructions for your two person kayak. Your stable, sit-on-top kayak is equipped with a comfortable backrest seat, life vests, a waterproof bag for your personal belongings and, of course, paddles. You’ll enjoy Bonaire’s Caribbean shore as you kayak over shallow water, filled with colorful sea life.

Keep an eye out for pelicans and turtles! Two guides will accompany you all the way. The bay is always protected from the elements. Your destination is a beach in the southern part of the Bonaire Marine Park - an exquisite snorkeling location, excellent for all skill levels. Bonaire has a long history of marine preservation and is world renowned for its snorkeling. Pull your kayak right onto the sandy beach, and moments later you’ll be slipping into the warm water with your snorkel gear and enjoying the breathtaking coral and the many colorful tropical reef fish. All of your snorkel equipment is provided, but if you have brought an underwater camera, this would be a great time to use it! Afterwards, relax on the beach and refresh yourself with some provided bottled water before kayaking back along the scenic route to the pier.
