Kids of all ages can find their happy place thanks to our complimentary youth programmes. Alongside our well-trained staff, your children will experience a wide range of exciting activities with kids and teens their own age. And whilst they're having the time of their lives, you can too, knowing they're in a safe and supervised environment.

What are Youth Programmes?

Youth Programmes is the umbrella of programmes for children 3 to 17 years old which consists of:

Family Activities: The Cruise and Youth teams offer an array of engaging family activities that brings everyone closer together. Bring your competition and A-Game for Beat Your Bed Time, Music Mania, Compete Opposites, and Family Dodgeball. Who will rule? The parents or the children?

Guppies Open Play: For the littlest cruisers, the Guppies Open Play offers a play space for parents to interact with their infants/ babies/toddlers 6 months - 3 years old and/or children in nappies. Please refer to the onboard Guppies activity programme for the location, dates, and times. The timetable varies per ship and itinerary.

Splash Academy: A drop off programme for children ages 3-12, fully potty trained (without nappies/pull ups), offering flexible programming, allowing children to explore and make their own interest-based choices throughout the sailing.

Entourage is the teen hang out for 13 -17 year olds. Refer to Entourage FAQ What does Entourage have to offer teens 13 -17 years old?

For Splash Academy, and Entourage, it is recommended that parents register their child(ren) and teen(s) as soon as they board the ship. Any Youth Counsellor on board the ship is available to assist.

GUPPIES
6 months - under 3 years old

SPLASH ACADEMY
3 - 12 years old

ENTOURAGE
Entourage: 13* - 17 years old

*Age eligibility is based on the age of the child at the time of sailing, according to their birth certificate or passport reflected on the ships manifest.

  • - A child must be 3 years old to register for Splash Academy.
  • - A child must be 13 years old to register for Entourage. (Please refer to the birthday exception.)
  • - A child who turns 18 during the cruise is considered a legal adult and will not be able to continue participation in Entourage.

  • The minimum age eligible for Splash Academy is 3 years old at the time of sailing, based on the child's date of birth, according to their birth certificate or passport reflected on the ships manifest.

    Are there size and weight requirements for water slides, rope courses, rock climbing walls, racetrack and laser tag?

    General Aqua Park rules:

    • - No running, jumping or diving are permitted in the water slide area.
    • - No beverages, food or glass are permitted.
    • - Children who are not toilet trained are not allowed on water slides.
    • - Guests must abide by all rules posted on signs in the water slide area.

     

    Below are specific size and weight requirements per ship and activity.

    Norwegian Bliss

    Race Track

    Height requirements: Minimum 1.40m or 55", Maximum 2.00m or 79". Shoes must cover toes and ankle (no flip flops). Loose clothing is not allowed. No age minimum, guests only must adhere to height requirements. Long hair must be tied back and hide inside helmet. Drug and alcohol consumption before driving are strictly prohibited. Persons with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, spinal injuries or pregnant are not recommended to participate

    Laser Tag

    Shoes must cover toes (no flip flops). No age, height or weight minimum as long as the person can carry the equipment. Hero Blast equipment will be available as an alternative to Laser guns on request. Drug and alcohol consumption before participating are strictly prohibited. Persons with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, spinal injuries or pregnant are not recommended to participate

    Aqua Racer

    Height requirements: Minimum 48” Weight requirements: No minimum weight; maximum weight not to exceed 300lbs for both solo and double tube riders

    Ocean Loops

    Height requirements: Minimum 48” Weight requirements: Minimum weight 130lbs; maximum weight 300lbs.

     

    Norwegian Breakaway / Norwegian Getaway

    Ropes Course

    Must be 48" (122cm) or taller to be on the course without a chaperone. Max weight is 300 lbs (136kgs) Skytykes (child's course) available for under 48" (122cm) as long as chaperone is present. Max weight is 300 lbs (136kgs). Enclosed footwear is required (such as sneakers) - no flip flops or sandals are permitted on the ropes course.

    Waterslides

    Free Fall - Must be 48" (122cm) or taller and weigh at least 99lbs (45kgs) but no more than 300lbs (136kgs). No jewellery of any kind may be worn on the slide.
    Whip Waterslides - Must be to be at least 48" (122cm).
    Family slide - Must be at least 42" (106cm).

    Bungee

    No minimum height but guests must be over 30lbs (14kgs) but under 250lbs (113kgs) and must be able to bounce unassisted.

    Spiderweb

    Minimum height is 42" (106cm) guests must be over 30lbs (14kgs) but under 250lbs. (113kgs)

     

    Norwegian Joy

    Galaxy Pavilion

    Minimum height and weight requirements for attractions will be enforced. Minimum height is 36" for most games. Maximum weight: 300 lbs.

    Joy Speedway

    Minimum height requirement is 55" with the ability to drive alone. Maximum height is 82". Food, drinks, loose clothing and personal items are not allowed. Fully closed footwear is required and shoes with high heels are not allowed. Maximum weight: 265 lbs.

    Laser Tag

    There are no age or height restrictions to participate. Players must be able to hold and operate laser gun. Fully closed footwear is required and shoes with high heels are not allowed.

    Aqua Racer

    Age Requirements for Travel

    Note: These terms are effective at the time of boarding.

    Travelling with Infants:

    • At least six (6) months of age on the day of boarding
    • At least twelve (12) months of age on the day of boarding if your cruise has 3 or more consecutive days at sea.

    Travelling with Minors and Young Adults:
    Norwegian Cruise Line's policy dictates that a minor or young adult under the age of 21 must be accompanied in the same stateroom (or a connecting/adjoining stateroom) by a guest 21 years of age or older at the time of boarding.

    • Minors – an individual under the age of 18 on the day of embarkation/boarding.
    • Young Adult– an individual between the ages of 18 and 20.

    Note: Two people under the age of 21 may travel together in the same stateroom if they are a married couple and provide proof of marriage to a Norwegian Cruise Line representative at the pier prior to boarding.

    Travelling with Minors Unaccompanied by Parent or Legal Guardian*:

    For passengers under the age of 18 travelling with an accompanying adult, who is not the minor's parent or legal guardian, a Parent/Guardian Consent Form that authorises the minor's travel and further authorises medical treatment in case of an emergency must be delivered to a Norwegian representative at the pier during check-in. Failure to produce this letter at embarkation may result in boarding being denied. Both living parents/legal guardians must sign and complete this form and attach a copy of his/her driver's license or other government issued identification. Minors of the same parent(s)/legal guardian(s) may be listed on the same form:

    • 1) Download and Complete the Parental Consent Release form (PDF)
    • Minors or the same parent(s)/legal guardian(s) may be listed on the same form

    • 2) Copy of both parents/legal guardians Driver’s License or other Government Issued ID
    • Adoptive parents, legal guardians or persons separated or divorced are advised to keep legal and other relevant documents available in order to clarify custody rights.

    *If travelling to Canada, you’ll the following document in addition to items #1 and 2 (Alaska, Pacific Coastal, and Canada/New England Itineraries):

    Canadian entry requirements stipulate that a child under the age of 18 travelling alone, or with person(s) other than both parents, should be in possession of a letter (preferably notarised) from the parents or legal guardian containing:

    • Authorisation for the child to travel with another person and to be outside the country;
    • The name and a 24-hour contact telephone number of the parents or guardian;
    • The destination and length of stay in Canada.
