See the island’s most spectacular natural wonders, starting with magnificent Rainbow Falls, which is named for the rainbows that often form in the surrounding mist. Travel to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park where you will begin your hike to Kilauea. The setting is so extraordinary that UNESCO deemed the park both a World Biosphere and a World Heritage site designation. To reach the crater, you will hike three miles roundtrip through parts of Halemaumau Crater. The volcano has been steadily erupting since 1983 and the surrounding. countryside is dramatic. A stop in at Volcano House with food for purchase and a gift shop and Steaming Bluff complete the visit. Returning to Hilo enjoy a local shopping stop with Hawaiian macadamia nuts, local crafts and products, Kona coffee and more before returning to the port.

Need to Know:

Note: Participants must be 10 years of age and be fully mobile and capable of walking unaided for more than three miles on moderately rough surfaces, hills, and uneven terrain. They must also be able to climb in and out of a minibus unaided. Scooters, wheelchairs and walkers can’t be accommodated. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
