Palermo's Noble Past

Walk to the exclusive and unique Palazzo Conte Federico, not far from the cathedral and within the ancient town center. Count Federico's family can be traced back to the Staufen Emperor Friedrich II. They have lived in this palace for centuries and today, they’ll welcome you and show you their home as they share some of its glorious history.

Dating back to the 12th century, the palace is built on Punic Roman city walls, and the tower on the south side of the palace is one of its few remaining parts. Over the centuries Count Federico's palace has undergone several reconstructions. Because of this, you’ll see various architectural styles: high painted ceilings from the 14th century, various sculptures and Marabitti's lion fountain from the 17th century. In the numerous halls, valuable antiques and paintings can be admired. Of special notice is the weapon collection in the knights' hall. Visiting the palace and meeting the owners is truly a unique experience.
