OVERVIEW

Tour the city like a local by riding around Puerto Princesa in the back of a motorized tricycle, one of the most popular means of public transportation. The driver will provide enlightening commentary during the stops, beginning at Plaza Cuartel. Now a national historic site, the plaza stands as a grim reminder of the atrocities of World War II, as 150 American prisoners of war died there when the Japanese set fire to their garrison beneath the park. Across the street, you will pause for photos of the neo-classical Immaculate Conception Cathedral, where the first mass was held in the city. You will discover more about Palawan as you visit Palawan Museum. Free time will also be allotted so you can meander about a local market and stroll the tree-lined promenade along the bay.

Need to Know:

Note: Tour has very limited capacity. Non-air-conditioned tricycles seat 2 to 3 guests and ride can be loud from the engine noise. Your guide will provide commentary only during the stops. Although this tour requires minimal walking during the stops, and a few steps to negotiate at the local market, it is not wheelchair friendly. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat shoes and sun protection are recommended.
