Browse a historical covered food market as a prelude to participating in a workshop on Mediterranean cuisine and a tasting of dishes prepared with local ingredients. A panoramic drive through Barcelona will serve as an introduction to the city’s culture and points of interest. One of the most frequented attractions is the Market Santa Caterina, which has been an institution since 1845. Inside, you will find dozens of stalls offering products ranging from seafood and game to garden-fresh produce and baked goods. The selection will give you a good idea of the organic and sustainable products that are available seasonally. Continuing on to the Ribera district, you will take part in a hands-on workshop at the bar and grill El Puntal, during which you will learn to prepare Mediterranean cuisine and sample several representative dishes. They will be paired with organic wines.

Note: This tour includes approximately 10 minutes of easy walking on flat paved surfaces. It is available to guests who utilize a collapsible wheelchair, are able to both make their way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. Any allergies must be noted when booking the tour. Casual, weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable, flat walking shoes are suggested.
