This historic shrine, once associated with the enshrinement of the Sun Goddess, offers a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature and smaller auxiliary shrines. Continue to the Oni Exchange Museum, where fascinating exhibits explore the cultural significance of “oni,” or demons, in Japanese folklore. Through masks, artifacts, and displays, guests gain insight into how these mythical beings have shaped festivals and traditions across Japan.

Note: This tour includes over two hours of moderate to strenuous walking with steep, hilly, and uneven terrain, including approximately 100 steps at Kongo-in Temple and stairs to access the castle museum. This tour is not available to wheelchair guests and is not recommended for those with mobility concerns, who should carefully evaluate their level of stamina and ability. Coaches do not have lifts and boarding requires stairs. The order of the sites visited may vary. Free time at Toretore Center is unguided, and guests are encouraged to bring Japanese yen, as credit card acceptance may be limited.
