OVERVIEW

Become immersed in all things tennis while visiting the site of the Australian Open, the first of four annual Grand Slam tennis events. A Tram ride will bring you to Federation Square, a cultural center where you will begin a delightful stroll along the Yarra River and on through Birrarung Marr park. There you will enter the Australian Open precinct, a collection of sports arenas and complexes on streets named for Australian tennis legends such as Margaret Court and Rod Laver, both winners of the Australian Open multiple times. While touring the facilities, you will learn about the history of the event and the composition of the courts, which makes them extraordinarily fast. You will also see the practice village at the National Tennis Centre and the Melbourne Cricket Ground. During free time, you can watch tennis being played on the courts where the Australian Open is held each January.
