OVERVIEW
Sample a variety of iconic Bahamian foods and drinks and tour places where they were produced. Rum has been distilled in the Bahamas since the 17th century and it is an essential ingredient in more than just cocktails. After touring a factory that makes rum cakes enhanced with flavors ranging from caramel to amaretto, you will sample a slice of this delectable dessert. You will also visit John Watling’s Distillery, which crafts its premium rums with molasses from hand-cut sugarcane. There, you will be served a sample freshly mixed piña colada and after one taste you will recognize the rum’s superior qualities. Similarly, following an eye-opening tour of Tasty Teas Bahamas, you will enjoy a sample of organic tea along with sampling of conch fritters and deep-fried cracked conch, a snack similar to calamari. A traditional lunch at the Bahama Grill – a favorite among locals – will round out this culinary adventure.
