OVERVIEW

Connect with the traditions, natural knowledge, and living culture of the Mi’kmaq community during this meaningful visit to Membertou. Begin with a guided medicine walk along the Green Links Trail, where you’ll learn how Mi’kmaq ancestors identified and used local roots, berries, mosses, leaves, flowers, and other plants for traditional purposes. As you move through the natural surroundings of Unama’ki, your guide will share cultural practices and stories that highlight the deep relationship between the Mi’kmaq people and the land. After the walk, take part in a hands-on dreamcatcher workshop and create your own keepsake to take home while enjoying traditional luskinikn bread with molasses and tea before returning to the pier.

Need to Know:

Note: This tour includes approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) of walking over crushed gravel, uneven ground, and unpaved trails. Guests must be able to board and disembark the minibus using 2–4 steps or travel with a companion who can assist them, as the driver and guide cannot provide mobility assistance. The tour is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for guests with walking difficulties. The itinerary may operate in reverse or be adjusted due to weather or operational conditions.
