You may be offered samples such as bizcochos pastries or other local snacks. While exploring a popular fish market, you will behold an array of seafood ranging from salt cod to squid. You will also browse a feria, a typically open-air street market that will present a candid glimpse into daily life. OVERVIEW
Visit a family-owned that uses traditional means and equipment to produce its premium wines and sample several examples that beautifully reflect the vineyard’s terroir. You will begin with an enlightening tour of Montevideo, during which you will pause for photos of Independence Square, which celebrates Uruguay’s freedom from Spain in the early 19th century. Los Nadies winery is also historical as it honors Uruguay’s winemaking heritage, especially through its flagship varietal wine Tannat. The owner, Manuel Filgueira, will show you around the winery and explain the importance of the Tannat grape, which was brought from France to Uruguay in the 1870s. As you will discover firsthand through an inspiring tasting, the Uruguayan version tends to be more velvety than its French counterpart and is extraordinarily high in antioxidants. You will also sample other wines that perfectly pair with the three courses in your homemade lunch at Los Nadies.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Enjoy a panoramic tour of Montevideo with a photo stop at Independence Square.
• Tour Los Nadies winery with the owner for an in-depth understanding of its wines.

OVERVIEW
See Montevideo’s most meaningful landmarks in Old Town and then visit the workshop of Candombe music legend Fernando Lobo Nuñez. While walking through the historical downtown, you will sense the reverence that Uruguayans have for their heritage monuments, especially Independence and Constitution squares, where you will pause to snap photos. The country’s Afro-Uruguayan music – known as Candombe – is also beloved, so much so that UNESCO has recognized it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. While visiting the workshop of Nuñez, you will learn about his deep connection to Candombe and his master skills as a luthier that handcrafts musical instruments. It will be an eye-opening experience as Nuñez has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting Candombe, a music form that originated in Uruguay among the descendants of liberated African slaves. He lives in a family home built in 1837 in the Barrio Sur neighborhood, where his enslaved ancestors once lived.
