Take in St. Lucia’s extraordinary natural beauty by driving along the island’s western coast and stopping on occasion for the very best views of its dramatic, volcanically formed terrain. You will first pass through a bucolic landscape of banana plantations on the way to Anse La Raye, a rustic fishing village. While proceeding along the pier and around the leafy main square, you can expect to meet local fishermen and browse the 18th-century cathedral. You will also see the fishing village of Canaries on the way to St. Lucia’s most iconic natural attraction – the Pitons, twin volcanic spires that soar high above the sea. They are so spectacular, along with the flora and fauna that thrive around their bases, that UNESCO deemed the entire area a World Heritage site. For a closer look at the island’s natural beauty, you will proceed to the Diamond Botanical Gardens and follow the path to its namesake waterfall.
