Duración 3 hs.
Cruise into Bonaire Marine Park onboard the air-conditioned Aquaspace, an ultra-sleek vessel with a large observation hull that allows for almost unobstructed views of the sea life.
Depart from the pier and make the short transfer along Bonaire’s beautiful coastline to a nearby marina where the futuristic-looking Aquaspace is moored. Originally built for the study of marine biology, this trimaran features a hull that is almost entirely glass, offering an expansive view of the wonders below the surface. In fact, Jacques Cousteau once used the Aquaspace to research and survey underwater marine life. Features that set the Aquaspace apart from most glass-bottom boats is it’s air-conditioned viewing gondola and oversized observation area.
After boarding the trimaran, you will set off for Bonaire National Marine Park, an area teeming with marine life because it was one of the first parks in the Caribbean to ban activities that damage the environment. While there is no telling what species will come into view through the observation hull, you can expect to see stands of elkhorn and staghorn coral, graceful sea turtles, and a dazzling spectrum of colorful fish that may include grunts, wrasses, goatfish, parrotfish and tangs.
In time, the Aquaspace will pause at a buoy, so you can swim or do some unguided snorkeling, if you choose. It’s yet another way to observe the bountiful sea life at Bonaire Marine Park. If you prefer to stay dry while the vessel is stopped, there is plenty of deck space for sunbathing. Snacks and cool drinks are also available. Following your time in the marine park, you’ll return to the pier, sailing along the coastline.
