Seal Watching Cruise

OVERVIEW

Get close to Australia’s largest fur seal colony during this eco-cruise that glides within feet of thousands of seals frolicking in the water and sunning themselves on the rocks. Perched on the southwestern side of the island is the jaw-dropping area known as Summerland Peninsula, a magnificent headland that marks the end of Phillip Island’s western-most point and the beginning of the sea’s never-ending blue horizon. One of the area’s most endearing residents is the Australian fur seal, unlike other fur seals, the Australian is noted for its small ears, large eyes and sharp teeth. An agile swimmer with a streamlined shape and strong flippers, it can dive to depths of 650 feet. Your adventure begins as you board the vessel at the pier and head out into the crystalline waters of Bass Strait, which separates Tasmania from the Australian mainland. Feel the ocean breeze surround you as your captain cruises by the picturesque coastline.
