This specially designed Lisbon tour offers a perfect first overview of Portugal’s capital, tailored for wheelchair users, travelers with reduced mobility, and seniors who want to explore with comfort and ease. Your journey begins in Belém, home of Portugal’s Age of Discoveries. Here you’ll admire the magnificent Jerónimos Monastery (outside visit), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the church of the Jerónimos. Afterwards, enjoy the original custard tarts at the historic Pastéis de Belém bakery, delighting visitors since 1837. Continuing through Belém, we will pass by Tower of Belém (outside) and the striking Monument to the Discoveries, where the Tagus River provides a beautiful backdrop for photos. This riverside area was once the departure point for Vasco da Gama’s great voyages. Afterwards, enjoy a scenic drive along the Tagus River. Along the way, you’ll see Lisbon’s iconic 25th of April Bridge and the towering Christ the King statue. We continue to Palácio de São Bento which is the home to the Portuguese Parliament and you´ll pass by Commerce Square inside the vibrant city center. In downtown Lisbon, you’ll explore the lively Baixa district, the city’s commercial and historic heart. Discover elegant Pombaline and neoclassical architecture, Marquês de Pombal Square, Avenida da Liberdade, and pedestrian streets filled with traditional shops and cafés. Stroll through Rossio Square and its surroundings where you’ll be able to admire both the Santa Justa elevator and the historic St. Jeorge´s Castle, set high above the hills. Along the way, you will see emblematic squares, historic churches, and charming viewpoints that showcase Lisbon´s historic quarters such as Alfama and Bairro Alto. With this accessible experience, Lisbon’s beauty, history, and flavors are all within easy reach—making the famously hilly capital comfortable, relaxed, and enjoyable.
