Ancient Mayan ruins and lush tropical rainforest are home to the Chiapas region. Situated on the Pacific Coast in Southwestern Mexico, Puerto Chiapas serves as a small fishing and agricultural centre. The archaeological museum in nearby Tapachula exhibits artifacts excavated from the region.
