Situated overlooking the Kuala Lumpur Gardens, you’ll visit the National Monument, an immense bronze monument built to pay tribute to valiant soldiers who gave their lives defending the country during the Communist insurgency in the 1950's. Stop for photos at the city's most photographed landmark, the Old Railway Station and the most distinguished mosque in Kuala Lumpur, the National Mosque. You’ll have the opportunity for another photo stop at Independence Square and will also be able to see the Sultan Abdul Samad Building as well as the 328 ft. high flagpole, reputedly the tallest in the world.
Stop for photos at the Petronas Twin Towers before making your way to the Kuala Lumpur Central Market. Well known for its traditional handicrafts, a wide variety of wonderful Malaysian items such as kaftans, silverware, glassware, silk batik painting and songket, are available here. Visit the Royal Selangor Visitor Center, Malaysia's largest and most well-known pewter manufacturer. Tour the factory where you’ll be able to watch the skilled artisans at work and enjoy a visit to the retail gallery where you can purchase your own pewter work to take home. Enjoy a buffet lunch at a local venue.
