The old town of Split is built on and around the massive palace built by Roman emperor Diocletian at the turn of the 4th century - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Today, Split offers a lively art scene, bustling cafés and finely preserved architectural and cultural gems.

Your walking tour of historical Split includes a visit to the Ethnographic Museum. The museum was founded in 1910 and represents the rich tradition and cultural heritage of Dalmatia. You’ll also visit the Split City Museum located in the north-east part of the palace, with two yards, in which most of the exhibition halls are situated. Other sites, such as the Golden Gate, the Silver Gate and the Peristyle Square will be seen from the outside.
