After tendering to St. George, you will begin a leisurely walking tour of town, which was founded in 1612 and became the island’s first capital. As you meander the cobblestone streets and quaint lanes, you will soon understand why UNESCO designated St. George a World Heritage site for being an authentic example of an English colonial town in the New World. The ambiance and 17th- and 18th-century architecture exudes history.

Along the way, you may pass the Tucker House Museum and St. Peter’s Church, the oldest continually used church in the western hemisphere. You will notice that many of the alleys, such as Needle & Thread and Barber’s, are named for former trades that flourished here. Shinbone Alley refers to the colonial soldiers that overindulged in its pubs and crawled out on their hands and knees, banging their shinbones.

A different side of Bermuda awaits you at Tobacco Bay Beach, where you will linger over lunch before heading for the shore. Now a national park, the beach was named for the wild tobacco that grew here when survivors of a shipwreck came ashore in 1609.

Feel free to swim in the shallow waters or snorkel along the dramatic limestone formations. Colorful parrotfish, sergeant majors and grouper are commonly spotted in the clear seas.

A picturesque drive along lovely Oriental Bay toward Mount Victoria offers a spectacular 360 view of Wellington and its well-protected harbor. Visit the Wellington Botanical Garden, established in the 1860s. Strolling through this wonderland of exotic and indigenous plants, you'll see rare specimens of begonias, heritage roses, and aromatic herbs. The lily pond is also worth noting because of its enormous water lilies and the carnivorous plants nearby.

History takes center stage as you drive down Bowen Street, home to New Zealand's Parliament, which has been meeting here since 1865. The most iconic building within this sprawling government complex is the Executive Wing, known as "The Beehive" for its distinctive shape. After your tour through the caves, you’re off to an Ostrich farm where you’ll board a Safari truck and your local guide will give you detailed information about this spectacular farm.

The birds are impressive and it’s really interesting to interact with them. You don’t have to be a hero and hand feed them, but it’s a great experience! You’ll also see the different phases and development of an egg to one of the biggest birds on earth. If you’re really lucky one of the birds may be born during your visit. Spend time at the Prince of Wales Museum, opened in 1923, built to commemorate King George V's royal visit to India, and see an impressive collection of artifacts from Elephanta Island and the Jogeshwari Caves, ivory carvings, terracotta figurines from the Indus valley, and a large collection of miniature paintings. You’ll visit another structure built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911 and is a principal landmark in Mumbai, the Gateway of India.

Enjoy a visit to an elephant camp, a cashew nut factory, and the Chalong Buddhist Temple, along with island scenes.

At the cashew nut factory, curiously named Sri Bhurapa Orchid Company, you’ll see how mouth-watering cashew nut products are made as skilled workers create a variety of snacks and sweets.

A visit to the Chalong Temple brings you to what is considered the most beautiful and ornate temple on the island, Wat Chalong. Here you’ll find a statue of Luang Por Cham, the monk who became a hero when he helped the people of Phuket put down the Chinese Coolie Rebellion in 1876.

Elephants are an important part of Thai history and culture, regularly featured in Buddhist art and architecture. Arriving at the elephant camp, you will have a chance to observe how the elephants bathe and feed; this will be a great photo opportunity.

It's a short drive from the ship's side to the pontoon where your sightseeing vessel stands ready to take you on your cruise around beautiful Otago Harbor. You’ll see from a distance the picturesque townships of Carey's Bay, Deborah Bay and Acheron Head as you navigate to Taiaroa Head. Along the way, the Captain will provide commentary about this pristine environment.

From the deck of your boat, you'll have an excellent opportunity for a close-up view of the area’s wildlife, which include seals, cormorants, albatross and various other waders. You may even catch sight of penguins and playful dolphins. Alive with wildlife, Taiaroa Head boasts over 10 species of nesting birds amongst its inhabitants, including the Royal Albatross. Step aboard your air-conditioned coach for a scenic drive through the countryside to Gun Hill Signal Station. Built in 1818, the signal station was restored and landscaped by the Barbados National Trust and now houses a collection of military memorabilia. An officer at the signal station carved the statue of the lion, out of a single piece of rock in 1868. Enjoy a fantastic view of the island from here.

Continue on to Orchid World, which sits on 6 acres of land in the parish of St. George. A path winds its way between beautiful coral, rock gardens, shady gullies and ponds. The orchids are spectacular - thousands are grown in shaded houses and outside on freestanding palisades. You’ll be fascinated by the sight of orchids growing mid-air with their roots completely free of soil. Wonderful photo opportunities abound.

Continue to the Highland Adventure Centre, from here the view of the east coast is breathtaking – you’ll also see Mount Hillaby the highest point on the island. Refreshments are available for purchase at the well-stocked bar.

Enjoy a scenic 90 minute ride through the outskirts of Montego Bay and along Jamaica’s beautiful coastline to the resort area of Negril. Your journey from the second city on the north coast takes you through Jamaica’s lush countryside to the home of Jamaica’s Famous Rum, Appleton Estate. The small dome-shaped cataracts are usually associated with thermal spring activity found in limestone caves.
