Point Adolphus is noted for having the highest concentration of humpback whales in the Alaskan panhandle, so be on the lookout for these majestic and intelligent creatures. Birds in particular are the attraction at Volunteer Point, a nature preserve that supports the largest concentration of King penguins in the islands. After departing from the pier, you will soon arrive in the oldest section of Dubrovnik, a revered UNESCO World Heritage Site. Fans of the TV series “Game of Thrones,” which is based on George R. R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” fantasy novels, will recognize this part of Dubrovnik as King’s Landing, the fictional capital of the Seven Kingdoms.

Your first stop will be imposing Lovrijenac Fortress, located just outside the medieval walls that encircle Old Town. Known as Dubrovnik’s Gibraltar, the 11th-century fortress perches atop a craggy rock overlooking the sea, which represented Blackwater Bay in the books.

Continuing on, you will enter Old Town and make your way to the defensive walls to the south. After climbing the steps, you will walk along the stone battlements, which afford extraordinary views of the sea and the inner city. These walls appeared in numerous scenes in “Game of Thrones”; they were particularly prominent in the Battle of Blackwater Bay.

Later, you will enjoy free time within Old Town, where you may explore other sites that you may recognize from the series. Check out Maui’s massive Haleakala volcano from bottom to top, as you journey from sea level to the summit to view spectacular island scenery and the immense crater of volcanic rock. You can catch a glimpse of Haleakala, Maui’s massive dormant volcano, from almost any point on the island, but you will go all the way to the top on this scenic journey – from sea level to 10,000 feet. At the summit is a vast crater seven and a half miles long by two and a half miles wide, and 3,000 feet deep. It last erupted in 1790 and has slumbered ever since, though that does not mean it won’t one day wake up. The Hawaiians revere it as a sacred site, and tell tales of Pele, Goddess of Fire and Volcanos.

The views from the top are magnificent. If the day is clear, you may even make out two other towering peaks – Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the Big Island. From the crater’s rim, you'll be able to appreciate first hand the unique beauty of this imposing caldera with its interesting mix of volcanic rock and plant life, some of which, like the silversword plant, is found only in Hawaii's volcanic craters.

Depart the Port of Miami by air-conditioned coach with a knowledgeable guide and drive for approximately one hour to enter Everglades National Park. Nestled between the mountains of Acadia National Park and the Atlantic Ocean on Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor has attracted visitors, naturalists and scientists for decades. Pass the College of the Atlantic, devoted to marine biology with an emphasis on whale management, and learn about Jackson Laboratory, a unique medical research facility working. Catch a glimpse of Bar Harbor’s attractions including the Village Green and beautiful ‘summer cottages’ originally built by wealthy Victorian era residents. The backdrop to Bar Harbor is the famous Cadillac Mountain, centerpiece of Acadia National Park. Enjoy a journey to the summit, the highest point on North America’s Eastern Seaboard. Pass through the visually stunning countryside in the Puna district just outside Hilo, where you will see lava fields from past volcanic eruptions and walk along the Pohoiki black-sand beach, which is composed of lava fragments. According to legend, the volatile Hawaiian volcano goddess Pele lives in the district’s Kīlauea volcano. She not only creates new land, but also destroys what stands in the path of the lava, which is known as “frozen fire” once it cools and hardens. However, the historical Painted Church was spared during Kīlauea’s eruption in 1990 when the congregants raised the church onto a trailer and moved it to safety. While browsing the wooden church, which features wonderful painted ceiling frescoes, you will hear more about its salvation. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to shop for locally made merchandise and meander along Hilo Bay, whose jagged black rock shoreline is volcanic in origin.

Enjoy the fun and adventure of Corfu’s countryside while traveling over stony trails through the olive groves. You’ll catch glimpses of the sparkling Ionian Sea, beautiful green hills and have a glimpse of the traditional way of life led by many of the local people. After picking up your 4x4 vehicle at the pier, your guide will lead you up the main coastal road to the northeast of the island. You’ll then take small country roads to quaint villages, stopping at one of the most charming and oldest on the island to take in the views.

Take an uphill narrow winding road (with 27 zigzag turns) to the Sokraki where you’ll stop to admire one of the most fantastic panoramic views. Following a dusty road, you’ll arrive at Troumbetta. You’ll pass through other picturesque sites and stop at Bella Vista to take in more spectacular views and enjoy some refreshments and Greek snacks. You’ll find it difficult to decide which village is the most appealing to you.

You’ll also visit a traditional Koum Kouat distillery. The Koum Kouat citrus fruit, a variety which only grows in Corfu, is made into one of the island's most famous products, a liqueur with the same name, plus fruit preserved sweets.
