Savor a tasting at Mor Salkim, a boutique winery that has helped revive the craft of wine-making on the Bodrum Peninsula. Although wine has been produced in Turkey for 7,000 years, it is just now starting to gain international attention. Established in 2014, family-owned Mor Salkim is known for producing well-respected premium wines from just a handful of grape varieties. As you tour the vineyards, you will learn about the terroir, the aquifer beneath the land and the processing of the grapes in a sustainable, environmentally friendly manner. Later, you will sample several wines that may include a citrusy white varietal made from Muscat grapes and red blends from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The wines will be thoughtfully paired with artisanal cheeses, meats and native Narince grape leaves stuffed with seasonal ingredients. The experience will reveal much about the renaissance of Turkish wines, especially on the Bodrum Peninsula.
