OVERVIEW

Taste, discover and unwind across Roatán on a 5½-hour island experience combining wildlife, local flavors, cultural heritage and Caribbean relaxation—with a chef-prepared lunch and drinks included. Begin at Mayan Eden Eco-Nature Park, where you’ll explore the Roatán Living Heritage Forest Experience and observe wildlife in a natural setting while learning about island history and heritage. Continue to Sandy Bun Bakery to sample locally inspired baked specialties, then visit a chocolate factory to discover how Honduran cacao goes from bean to bar. Next, sample local craft beer or a tropical alternative while learning about island traditions. Finish at a private beach club, where an included island lunch and drinks accompany approximately two relaxing hours to swim, lounge and enjoy the Caribbean setting before returning to the ship.

HELPFUL HINTS

• Wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for uneven paths and bring swimwear and a towel for the beach portion.
• Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent and a camera.
• Carry cash or a credit card for optional souvenirs and personal purchases at the stops.

Note: This 5½-hour excursion is rated easy to moderate but is not wheelchair accessible. Mayan Eden Eco-Nature Park includes uneven jungle paths, short inclines and hanging bridges and presents the greatest mobility challenge. Other venues are generally flat with minor steps or gentle ramps. Vehicles cannot accommodate collapsible wheelchairs and do not have wheelchair lifts. No elevators are available at the venues. Accessible restroom facilities are available at the Eco-Nature Park and beach club, and the beach club provides ramp access from the lobby to the beachfront dining area. Wildlife observations take place in a natural environment and cannot be guaranteed. The Garifuna cultural experience and Gifiti tasting described by the operator are optional elements, subject to guest interest, available time and operational availability.
