View an array of spectacular manmade and natural attractions and come away with a great appreciation for Ketchikan’s charms. Saxman Village enchants with its dozens of colorful totem poles adored with symbols that reflect the culture of the indigenous people. An enlightening tour of the remote George Inlet Cannery will add more historical insight as it showcases various types of fishing such as trolling and purse seining. A tasting of smoked salmon other Alaskan seafood delicacies will round out the cannery experience. Natural beauty will take center stage as you follow a nature trail with a naturalist guide that will describe wilderness areas such as George Inlet and Beaver Falls. Cruising the inlet presents yet another perspective of this incredibly scenic waterway. Wildlife is abundant throughout, especially sea lions, porpoises and bald eagles. Chances are, you will pause at Walden Rocks, a finger of bare rocky land where seals frequently come ashore to rest.

Note: All guests are required to navigate tide variable ramps and access stairs onto the motorcoach and boat. Comfortable shoes and warm layered clothing is recommended. Wildlife sightings are frequent, but not guaranteed. Dress in weather-appropriate clothing. Wear flat comfortable walking shoes. Guests who go ashore do so with the understanding that they will be mixing with members of the general public. This tour starts at Ward Cove and ends in downtown Ketchikan. Guests will take the free shuttles back to Ward Cove to return to the cruise ship. Tour may operate in reverse. Lift buses are not able to accommodate Motorized Scooters, however manual wheelchairs can be used.
