OVERVIEW

Enjoy an insider’s view of local chocolate and tequila production with Zumba® Presenters Anna Marchenko and Ricardo Marmitte before exploring the wonders of Paradise Reef underwater in a semi-submersible. At the Mayan Cacao Company, you will see how chocolate is made from cacao, a process that dates back to the ancient Mayas, who drank chocolate for ceremonial and medicinal purposes as far back as 500 BC. After sampling some creamy chocolate, you will proceed to a tequila tasting seminar for a tasting that will present the historical and cultural importance of tequila on the Yucatan peninsula. An entirely different perspective of Cozumel awaits you just offshore on Paradise Reef, where you will explore the underwater world in a semi-submersible. Although the vessel’s viewing windows are only a few feet below the water’s surface, the sights will be extraordinary. You can expect to see a riot of brilliantly colored fish and perhaps hawksbill turtles and green moray eels.
