Journey 135 miles inland through the rugged desert to the foothills of Mount Sinai and discover St. Catherine's Monastery. This Greek Orthodox holy place is the oldest Christian monastery in the world, dating back to the prophet Moses and the exodus of the Jews from Egypt. You’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the monastery. Arriving at St. Catherine’s you'll have a guided tour that includes viewing what is believed to be Moses' Burning Bush. You will visit Emperor Justinian’s sixth century church, see the Mosaic of Transfiguration, the Chapel of the Burning Bush, the Icons Gallery, Jethro’s well and the Monastery's Museum. Depart from the monastery for the village of Dahab on the gulf of Aqaba where a delicious lunch buffet will be served for your enjoyment at one of the leading resorts of the area. On the return to Sharm El Sheikh.

Need to Know:

Note: Tour travels a combined total of approximately 6 hours by coach and includes approximately 1 1/2 hours of walking and/or standing at the monastery. As tour visits a religious site, please dress appropriately - no bare shoulders, shorts, or skirts above the knee. The Monastery is closed on religious holidays , opens on weekly basis daily from 08:45 - 11:30 & on Fridays 10:45 -11:30 (Museum not opened when calls coincide with Fridays). Monastery closes its door on Sunday .
