OVERVIEW

Feast on the legendary street foods of the Mong Kok neighborhood after a reflective experience at the Tian Tan Buddha, which you will reach by riding the Tung Chung cable car. Often simply called the Big Buddha for its towering size, the bronze sculpture seems to invite thoughtful meditation, especially considering the surrounding natural beauty. The nearby Po Lin Monastery also exudes a sense of calmness that will put you in just the right state of mind to fully enjoy the dim sum meal that follows. The contrast between the serenity of the monastery and the palpable energy in the wonderfully raucous streets of Mong Kok will be astounding. Curried fish balls, classic egg waffles, golden egg tarts and beef brisket noodles are local favorites that you will likely be served. If you are feeling adventurous, try the stinky tofu, a deep-fried street food that lives up to its name.
