Highlights of the city and some of Palermo’s best kept secrets and artistic treasures await you. A panoramic tour of the city showcases its most beautiful monuments: Teatro Politeama, Teatro Massimo, The Quattro Canti and Piazza Pretoria. Explore the grim, yet fascinating Catacombs of the Capuchin Friars. A truly unique experience, it displays more than 8,000 mummified citizens of Palermo; some dating back over 500 years and still dressed in their best. Visit The Oratory of Santa Cita, famous for the magnificently detailed stucco work by Giacomo Serpotta. A short walk from here is another legacy of artistic genius, the Oratory of the Rosario di San Domenico. The interior of this small chapel, a virtual art gallery, is also regarded as a masterpiece due to its beautiful stucco work executed by Giacomo Serpotta and paintings by Pietro Novelli Giacomo Lo Verde, Matthias Stomer and Luca Giordano.
