OVERVIEW
For guests with flights departing after 7:00 p.m., take this opportunity to explore Auckland’s past and present by visiting the city’s esteemed museum and relaxing in one of its most fashionable suburbs before transferring to the airport to fly home. After departing from the pier, you will soon arrive at Bastion Point lookout, where you will pause to admire the sweeping view of Waitemata Harbor and Auckland in the distance. This advantage serves as an exceptional visual introduction to the city. Drive through the Auckland Domain, with nearly 200 acres of parkland in the heart of the city. It encompasses ponds, statuaries, tropical glass houses, and a wide variety of trees. Nestled within this idyllic retreat you will find the Auckland Museum. This neoclassical building houses exhibits on New Zealand culture along with impressive Māori natural history collections. You will have some free time to further browse the exhibits on your own. Travel over Auckland’s North Shore Harbor Bridge, passing beautiful Shoal Bay while en route to the affluent suburb of Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore. Takapuna is home to a vibrant town center that has a definite beach vibe and offers around 300 retail outlets to explore as well as numerous choices for dining on your own. You will have some free time here to do both. Before heading to the airport, you will pause for photos of the signature Harbor Bridge from the West haven Yacht Marina. You will also view the America’s Cup Yachting Village, a tribute to Auckland’s sailing history.
