Heighten your environmental awareness and delve into St. Kitts’ fascinating past by visiting some of the island’s most representative destinations. History will take center stage in downtown Basseterre, where the guide will point out attractions that reflect the French and British colonization. Outside of town, you will pause at Bloody River, where European troops slaughtered the native Caribs in a horrific unprovoked attack. The focus will turn to the ecology at Montraville Farms, a family business that grows produce hydroponically in greenhouses, a sustainable practice with little or no impact on the environment. The St. Kitts Eco Park also grows plants in greenhouses, although its main purpose is to promote renewable energies and environmental education. After visiting, you will dine on an organic vegan lunch at Fairview Great House and Botanical Gardens. Time will also be allotted for you to explore the 17th-century estate, which houses the island’s only slavery exhibit.

• Explore an eco park that promotes green energies and sustainable agriculture. • Visit a farm that grows leafy greens hydroponically in an eco-friendly way. • Recognize the effects of colonization on St. Kitts at historical attractions. • Enjoy an organic vegan lunch at a 17th-century estate.
